ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is a treatment that involves inserting tiny needles into the skin to assist a person's energy flow more smoothly. The needles are put into the patient's body at certain points that correspond to energy points. This activates the body's innate healing processes, assisting in the restoration of mental and physical balance.

There are many practitioners who continue to practise Acupuncture according to its original concept, others have begun to incorporate a more integrative approach based on research and western medicine principles. Many modern Acupuncturists, for example, see Acupuncture sites as places where nerves are stimulated, energising the body's own pain-fighting and healing mechanisms.

One of the most important advantages of Acupuncture is pain alleviation. Acupuncture can help to relieve back and neck strain as well as joint pain. This is a non-drug approach to treating common pain issues. It can also help to reduce inflammation in certain regions.

In our treatment, we combine Ultrasound, Massage and Acupuncture to give you 3 treatments in one. This will give you a better chance of being pain-free in the shortest space of time.

What are the Health Benefits of Acupuncture?

Acupuncture can help reduce:

  • Arthritis Pain
  • Migraines and Tension Headaches
  • Knee Pain
  • Shoulder Pain
  • Upper & Lower Leg Pain
  • Upper & Lower Back Pain

A recent trial of non-drug treatments for lower back pain found that Acupuncture reduced pain intensity and improved back function after treatment.

Acupuncture can also aid in the proper functioning of the Immunological and Neural systems. As a result, overall wellness improves, and the body heals itself naturally when disease or damage happens.

Is Acupuncture painful?

As the Acupuncture needle is inserted, you may feel a tiny sting, pinch, aching, or pain. Some Acupuncturists move the needle after it has been inserted into the body, causing more pressure. After the needle has been successfully inserted, you may also experience a tingling or heavy sensation known as Qi. There might also be slight bruising around the needle point, but this is quite rare.
